Visual Artists Ireland

OBG and VAI collaborated on a series of events during the ‘Arrivals’ Exhibition at OBG in August 2010 including artist talks with Aoife Collins, Aideen Barry and Niamh McDonnell as well as organising professional development sessions and ‘Creating Alternative Spaces’, a discussion on alternative spaces around U.K and Ireland. In 2011, we are working on a series of  ‘Common Room’ events where artists can come and discuss recent work or current art related issues in an informal and informative  setting.

OBG is hosting a Critical Writing Competition in March 2011, the winning entry will be published in the Visual Artists News sheet. Around this time OBG and VAI will co-organise a series of events, and talks on critical writing.
