Energy Class B
Energy Class B is a collection of work by 13 young contemporary Polish artists and is in association with the UK wide Polska!Year celebrations. The exhibition has been curated by Monika Szewczyk, Director of the Arsenal Gallery in Bialystok, Poland.
The artists in Energy Class B explore Polish identity and perceptions of Poland from the inside and out, through a variety of mediums including film, photography, performance and sculpture. In Energy Class B, many of the artists take 1989; the demise of communism, as their starting point in exploring contemporary Polish identity with stark contrasts such as old and new, nostalgia and bitterness, comedy and tragedy which create insights into the Poland of today.
The following artists exhibiting and performing are Pawel Althamer, Arthur Zmijewski, Kobas Laksa, Julita Wojcik, Jozef Robakowski, Andrzej Tobis, Super grupa Azorro, Joanna Rajikowska, Oskar Dawicki, Elzbieta Jablonska, Marek Wasilewski and Hubert Czerepok.
