Conor McFeely: Inside His Master’s Voice

Conor McFeely: Inside His Master’s Voice

9th April – 23rd May 2010

Included in this exhibition are “The Phosphene Diaries” and “Inside His Masters Voice.” These works integrate video and audio sequences with sculptural installation. Partly informed by a literary framework the works are intended to act as metaphors within a project that gives rise to a dialogue on the relationship between individual and collective, private and public experience.

A phosphene is an entoptic phenomenon characterized by the experience of seeing light without light actually entering the eye. They differ from optical illusions and can be directly induced by mechanical, electrical, or magnetic stimulation of the retina and have been reported by people who go for long periods without visual stimulation.
