Counterpoint

This exhibition comprises of a group show, of work by five artists, presently working at an international level in contemporary sculpture. The five artists are Claire Morgan, Brendan Jamison, Clive Murphy, Julie McGowan and Martin Boyle.  The exhibition will be curated by Feargal O’Malley.

Counterpoint identifies a new Northern Irish Sensibility in sculpture, celebrating the work of an exciting new generation of sculptors who are deliberately disrupting traditional modes of sculpture and the viewer’s experience of installation art,

This will be the first major exhibition to focus on a substantial piece of work by each artist, all of whom graduated in 1990s – early 2000s. Each artist will have a designated gallery space within OBG to display their work. Four of the artists, Clive Murphy, Brendan Jamison ,  Julie McGowan and Martin Boyle will be creating pieces in situ in OBG.  All pieces included in the exhibition will be substantial in scale.
